I am writing in regards to… – gets straight to the reason you are writing
…, about which I would like further information. – a formal way to say ‘I want to know more’
Presently – a simple way to start describing your current situation
further details – a useful way to say ‘I’ll talk more about this in a later email’
I look forward to your reply – polite, and also reminds the reader you want them to write back to you
Example
Dear Mr. Adams,
I am writing in regards to the current rates and availability of your consulting services, about which I would like further information. My attention was drawn to your firm by a client of mine, Ted Hudson, who highly recommends your work.
Presently I am in the process of establishing an education website, and am looking for a person who can help with both the design and the marketing.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss further details of my current project, and I look forward to your reply.
